FOR CITRUS COUNTY SHERIFF
INTEGRITY AND EXPERIENCE

Dave Sigler
A MESSAGE FROM WINN
In 2008, two years after retiring from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, I was elected to the Board of County Commissioners.
Now, as a county commissioner for almost three years, I have been instrumental in
reducing the county's annual budget.
As a new commissioner in 2008 and having inherited a $278 million budget, I, along with my fellow commissioners, voted unanimously to cut $20 million from that budget. The next year I again voted to cut $17 million more and last year another $10 million, for a total of more than $47 million being cut from our annual budget in just three years. This is the first time in the history of our county, that the budget has been cut three consecutive years and with little or no loss of services.
My father, W.L. Webb, came to Citrus County in the 1920's and in 1937 at a tax auction, purchased an old chicken farm in Floral City.

When WWII began, dad, who was, at that time, the commander of American Legion Post 77, resigned and joined the Navy, serving in the Seabees in the South Pacific. (I only know this from reading an old newspaper article since his death, as he never talked much about his military service)
